I must admit, I'm a bit confused on the whole issue. At first I was concerned but I will admit there are still very valid points put forward by the developer. But I wonder how that many residential properties can possibly not be a risk for the squirrel gliders etc. Anyone got any clarification on what the facts actually are?

Minnippi fight not over (South East Advertiser - 20 June 2007)
Minnippi Against Development (MAD) is not giving in on its bid to stop the Cannon Hill Community Links project going ahead. Following a unanimous decision by the Brisbane City Council's Urban Planning and Economic Development Committee to approve the project, MAD have legal experts searching for grounds on which to appeal the decision.

Council scrub to become golf course (Brisbane Times - 13 June 2007)
A controversial 15-year-old plan to turn 125 hectares of council-owned bushland into a golf course and housing development was given the go-ahead yesterday, despite strident community opposition and accusations of behind the scenes deal-making.

The development proposal for a Golf Course and a housing development on Sport and Recreational Land is currently being assessed. This is being carried out by independant assessors as Council in the custodian of the land.
