Carindale is covered by the Ward of Chandler. Chandler Ward also Camp Hill, Mansfield and Mt Gravatt East. Adrian Schrinner is the Councillor of Chandler. includes the suburbs of Gumdale, Chandler, MacKenzie, Burbank, Rochedale, Carina Heights, Capalaba West and parts of Belmont.

Carindale is also covered by Chatsworth which also includes Carina, Carina Heights, Tingalpa, Manly West, Gumdale, Chandler, Belmont and parts of Camp Hill. Chris Bombolas is the State Member for Chatsworth.

The Belmont Flyer, consisting of a B13 locomotive and two carriages, generally ran from Norman Park to Belmont.

The line ran alongside what is now Skyline Drive, halting at Mount Bruce Station before continuing through the north eastern part of Glindemann's dairy, crossing Wiles Road and passing through what is now the Camp Hill State School oval, to Old Cleveland Road.
